in an attempt to get my life back into some sense of regularity, i have engaged with some pretty cool stuff this week!

I Love My Computer - Ninajirachi

I'll admit I was pretty late to this one and only just listened to it, but after one listen through i was OBSESSED. It's so fun to listen to and has this nostalgia that takes me back to multiple times of my life with such a deep fondness. Highlight tracks for me include London, Delete and iPod Touch.

The White Stripes induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

As someone who has been massively inspired by Jack White and The White Stripes since I first got into rock music, this was incredibly special for me. If you know me, you know i do not fuck around when it comes to The White Stripes. It was so nice seeing Jack in the red, white and black again and the letter he read out as a tribute to Meg was so precious. As much as I totally get it, it was kinda sad to see that Meg wasn't present and Jack up there accepting the award on his own, but I feel like that sparks a larger conversation.

Also on the topic of the rock hall, it was v emotional to see Soundgarden get their flowers without Chris. The tributes were incredible (the Black Hole Sun performance with the band + Brandi Carlisle & Taylor Momsen was AMAZING), seeing Hiro there as well, it was all very special and made me really sad that Chris didn't get to be there, but I'm very happy they got their moment.

Frankenstein

This typically isn't my kind of film, I mainly just watched it because it was on in my household. I ended up quite enjoying it, and it made me feel things that i wasn't expecting Frankenstein to make me feel. Loved Mia Goth's performance but also Jacob Elordi's committment to the role as creature. Left the viewing feeling like I'd seen my fair share of blood and guts but in the end, not bad!

Pokemon Legends Z-A

Decided to splurge and purchase the new pokemon game! I haven't played any pokemon since sword & shield so I was intrigued in how the gameplay had changed. I've only played it a small amount but so far I'm really enjoying it as I continue to get the hang of it. I really appreciate the menu that tells you what your current mission, as someone who will put a game down and not touch it again because the thought of going back and trying to figure out where I've been and what's left can get quite overwhelming. Very excited to get properly stuck into it when I have a good amount of time!
